Northampton Community College’s Engineering program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution and earn their bachelor’s degree in Engineering. If your goal is to pursue a lifelong career as a licensed engineer in any discipline, our 2-year program can be an affordable and convenient way to begin that journey.
Many of our students transfer to notable institutions to complete their degree, including Lehigh University, Drexel University, Rutgers, Penn State, Lafayette College, and Northeastern. Beginning your career at Northampton can help save thousands on tuition while preparing you for the rigors of a 4-year institution. Graduates of our engineering program also sometimes choose to enter the workforce as technologists or enter into other mathematics and science-focused careers.
This engineering program is offered in both a full- and part-time format on our Monroe and Bethlehem campuses. Courses are offered during the day and in the evenings.

If your goal is to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering, our program can be an affordable and convenient way to get started. Many of our students transfer and complete degrees at Lehigh and Drexel Universities, Lafayette College, Penn State, Rutgers, Northeastern and many other engineering schools. Program Information
The core curriculum of our program focuses on developing a skill set required for all engineering specialities, from chemical and civil engineering to mechanical, electrical, and more. The course offerings parallel the first two years of any engineering program at a typical 4-year institution.
Classes are taught by our dedicated faculty who conduct both the lectures and the lab segments for every class, offering you greater opportunities to form relationships with your professors. With classes sizes small enough for individualized attention, every student has the opportunity to find and develop their unique strengths. Students also have access to our range of student services, including career and personal counseling, transfer counseling, tutoring, and job placement support.

Career Opportunities
The 2-year Engineering program at Northampton Community College equips students with the knowledge and prerequisites needed to transfer to in-demand 4-year institutions and earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in a variety of disciplines, a requirement to begin a career as a licensed engineer.
Students who choose to enter the workforce with their Associate Degree in Engineering can find careers as engineer technicians in mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, or even environmental engineering. These positions can earn a stable salary and employment opportunities are expected to grow over the coming decade.
For students who go on to transfer and earn their bachelor degree, they may find employment as engineers across multiple industries, working towards further graduate degrees or even careers as engineer managers and other high-level, leadership positions.
